Help please with a sv8 screen fault

guys have just bought a nice tidy sv8 with low miles but the front screen has suddenly frozen and wont take any commands from touch at all,the screen changes to camera and the pixels for heat change when adjusted by switches but not touch,if you keep hitting the sat nav word after maybe 30 hits the screen will bleep but that's about it,please help as im worried sick its going to need new screen and the wife will kill me at £1800 any help would be appreciated,have tried reboot no joy.

thx guys all sorted now had to have new screen and a m cable what ever that is,all spot on now except my wallet.
