This may be a contentious question/observation but are pre-owned F types selling currently? I am intending to purchase one sometime in 2015 and have been watching the market for the last 6 months, I have watched 2 cars in particular in a dealers, one is a V6 convertible and the other is a V8 coupe, both have been for sale since about August this year and neither have sold, currently there are 127 cars for sale on PH.
Is everyone contemplating buying one doing the same as me? waiting for the prices to drop especially when the all-wheel drive and manual gearbox cars are launched?
I would be interested to read other peoples opinions on this.

I have driven a 340ps Coupe and felt it needed `something a little bit more`. Talking to people in the know the V6-380ps is the car to have, its the most useable car I`m told.....the V8 is a hooligan and will bite if your not careful.....but that will change with the AWD V8.

Great looking car Nomal, the coupe is so much better looking than the convertible, red or white are the best colour IMO with the Pano roof....enjoy it!

Returning to this thread i notice the V6 convertable i mentioned in my original post when i started this thread is still for sale with the same dealer.......9 months later. They have dropped the price 2k recently.......so the question is are pre-owned F Types currently overpriced?.....from what i can tell....the answer would be yes.

Paul.....I`m looking at buying an F Type Coupe, probably the V6S. I have visited a couple of dealers and one of the first things I get told is `you can get a set of golf clubs in the boot!`......it might be a good idea if they asked the potential purchaser if they played golf firstly.......needless to add...I do not. Strange sales tactic if you ask me.
Just looked at the one you are looking at, price seems fair, nice colour Firesand. I have driven the 340ps V6,it was quick but felt it needed a bit more. The V6S is 380ps and is supposed to be the best drivers car, the V8 is a hooligan.
Regards
Al.

Paul 1962....your comment about dealers hanging on to them for themselves rings true.....last week I went into a well known Coventry Jaguar dealership....told them what I wanted....told them my budget....the guy came up with a car similar spec to what I want and told me he would need to sort the price out for me....he did.....8.5k over my budget!!!!....what was the point?

Why would a Jaguar main dealer give a car away just because you have a "budget"?
I`m not asking them to `give a car away`. I went into the dealership, told them the spec of car I wanted to buy, the sales guy asked me what my budget is and I told him. As a matter of fact, not that its really got anything to do with you, they actually had a car in stock to the specification I requested within my `budget`....but that car was not the colour I want....and if I`m paying 55k + for a car I would prefer a colour of my choosing.

..And as a matter of fact....the guy at the dealership has since contacted me and offered me a car within my `budget` but the car he offered me does not have one of the key options that I specified.....

You could just use the edit button

I like the fact they have two cars which are the spec you want only they're not the spec you want as the colour or an option or something is wrong. I guess you're saying the budget is reasonable but I've never met a car dealer that cars that much about your budget, they're only really bothered about the stock they have and what margin they have to play with. The most furiating conversation I've ever had with a dealer is when they refused to sell a car at a fair market price because it 'owed them too much' and they had to wait until they next revalued their stock.
That's fair enough....if Jaguar don't want my money I will go and spend it elsewhere...maybe put a deposit on the new TVR being launched in 2017! :-)

Esso , why come on a forum and then say - ' mind your own business ' and ' not that its any of your business'.
if you have that kind of attitude when you go to Jag dealers not surprised they don't want to sell to you !
.....seems like Jaguar may have a problem with the attitude of a number of their customers because there are 150 pre-owned F Types for sale on PH alone....which goes back to my original question on the beginning of this thread...about used F Types being overpriced

A used car in limited stock not being perfect.... shocker.

Surely you can operate the internet to the point you don't need a dealer to find you a car....

If there nothing in stock on the website, go in, ask to view the back office system, if there nothing on there then you have to wait. Simples.
...I can...I have & I will!....thankyou.

So quit moaning for the sake of having a soap box to do it from.
Didn't realise I was moaning, mearly expressing an opinion which is what these forums are for aren't they? I realise that people's opinions differ, wouldn't the world be a boring place if they didn't?....guess I will shut the feck up and go and put a deposit on the new TVR.....bye-bye Jaguar forum.

Well Gentlemen....I`m a little surprised by some of your recent reactions to my posts to say the least!
As you can probably gather I have been on PH forum for the best part of 10 years, mainly on the TVR forums. We tend to have some lively, friendly banter on there and its taken tongue in cheek.
The F Type is a brilliant car and would have been my first Jaguar purchase.
Obviously judging by recent comments Jaguar owners are a different breed to TVR owners and it doesn`t appear my face will fit in, so as someone as suggested I will go and buy something else.
Goodbye.

Thank you Yellowtang. Its a 2014 V6S Coupe, pan roof,20"wheels,performance seats, powered tailgate, one owner with 5300 miles on it.I paid 14.5k less than the list price of a new car of this spec.Try the V6S before you drive the V8,i think you may be surprised at how well it goes!
