Looking for my next toy and much as I like the F type, I do sometimes need an extra rear seat - even if the legroom is small.

I've been looking at a brand new unregistered XK at Chester, supposedly the last one made and the dealer is happy to certificate it as such.

I guess that there will be a replacement model at some stage.

So, should I consider new? Would it plummet in value as usual and should I look at an older s/h version.

Is there any reason at all why I should buy new?

You're right.

He mentioned one going to Jaguar Heritage so that must be what he meant.

I must have not fully taken it in.

It's supposedly well spec'd up at £56k

Fair point.

I've said no to new because there are quite a few in Autotrader, fairly new, low mileage and far cheaper.

Cheers all...

This was the coupe and they had an XK-R Coupe at Warrington up for around £72k and discounted to £65k.

To be honest, I'm just not sure that new is a better route to go down at the moment.

I could be wrong.

I wish that I could buy a car as a keeper but, sadly, as I drive off - I'm usually looking for my next car!

Must have wasted a fortune over the years...

Not just me either then!

I did try the XK and was really pleased with it but the rear seats are a waste of time for me.

Thing is that, at this price, I could buy a s/h F-Type which is more modern of course.

Anyone driven and compared the two please?

Yep, I think it's down to habit or becoming bored and fancying a change.

Thank you for that.

I was taken for a ride in one of my client's F-Type and thought that might be the case.

Cheers...
