Am also considering an XKR as well as an XJR/STR, have seen these two that are in budget that both look very clean and tidy,

Same seller as well,

Any thoughts, would prefer a convertible but might go for a coupe if the right one comes up.

Here is what I have learnt, ring true, anything to add ?

The possible problems, as I see it are Nikasil, but probably not a realistic concern these days, even so do the oil cap test to see whether its got any blow by, Cam chain tensioners, I would guess that most have the upgraded part by now, if not, get it doen, is it just a rattle from cold to see if its a problem ? otherwise these engines are pretty solid arent they ?

Gearbox, check it goes in all the gears and isnt doing anything weird, look for evidence of a gearbox oil change or budget for one.

Suspension, listen for clonks and any undue floatiness, concern being bushes, not sure which XKs have CATS which I know can be a problem, if not a huge one these days.

Electrics, generally, check everything works, any weirdness is usually down to a dying battery I believe.

Rust, floorpans go, check as per any other car, these two look like they have had a cosseted life so wouldnt expect any problems, any other rust spots on them ?

Otherwise, just cosmetic and interior condition, those two look, frome he pictures, pretty much as new, do they seem priced appropriately to you ? XKRs seem to command high prices even after all this time, some still up at 25k, surely that is pie in the sky.
