Hi all,

I' have a hankering for a supercharged noughties era jag. Something like an s type r, xjr, xkr.

I can't afford approved used and would like a warranty, So I am looking at Indy dealers.

I have no garage or driveway so am very limited in what I can do myself in terms of maintenance and would rather not have a project car.

Do I :
look for the cheapest I can find and send it to a specialist to get it into good working order?
Look for a jag specialist, pay more for the car with the expectation that it will be in good working order?
Find a good general Indy dealer? How does one do this? I always check on dealers Ltd company history before even calling them and a good proportion seem to have been trading for less than a year which makes me nervous.

And further, can I expect to find dealers offering more than the standard 3 month warranty?

Many thanks.

Thanks both,

I had a feeling warranties would be useless. I assume not applying for a warranty direct kind of policy either?

Agree with CX53, try and locate a private seller who has looked after the car, no way should you buy the cheapest, because it will be dearest.
If you don't mind can I ask (exc fuel and rfl) what kind of running costs you've had on the xjr?

And do you do the work yourself?
