Hi ya folks.

Seeing as an XKR will almost certainly be my next car, it only seems right that I should make you aware of this.

It would be great if we could hear/see an XKR roaring down the runway.

You wont get me disagreeing with any of that... I've thrown a fair bit at mine.

Still love to hear/see an XKR there.

I wasn't aware that the XKR was as reliable as you seem to imply.

Didn't a couple of them have a problem with liners & tensioners ?

If not, there seems to be a hell of a lot on Autotrader with "engine replaced" on them.

Stones, glass houses...

I recently had a budget of 20k available for a car upgrade, and an XKR was on my list of possibles. That and A Maserati 3200, but another Cerbera came along at the right price.

Would none of you XKR owners ever consider a Cerb or the 3200, or is it just me.

I will have an XKR at some stage, by the way smile

I reckon there's a few Cerb owners who'll try an XKR at some stage.

I know JSK went from Cerb to XKR then something else..

I've got two customers who've had XKR's, one now drives A new continental GT & the other A new Range Rover, and they both say that the Jag was the best car they ever had.

I've got an old fella who comes in to our place, and he's got an old shape 06 XKR , his only complaint is the lack of space in the back seats, but I reckon he should have spotted that before he bought it smile

He traded in his Maserati 4200 for it, which he had for less than a month. He liked the paddle shift, but he felt the car was "undriveable", in the fact that the car lurched forward with the slightest touch of the throttle, he didn't feel he could creep along in slow traffic... The dealer told him "they're all like that", so he chopped it against the XK.

Looking at that photo in your profile... that's a lovely looking car.

I look at that picture, and think "Aston Martin"

Russel, keep the cerb mate! you know it makes sense! lovely jublie.
Thanks Lee.

Apologies for not getting back to your email, I received/found it six weeks after you sent it (computer error combined with moving premises), by which time you'd found yourself one.

There's an 800bhp Holden in the classifieds that has currently got my attention at the moment smile

I'd have been intersted to see how the XKR & XJR's would have done on that 3/4 mile.

With the extra power & torque and the auto box, I reckon that and the Cerb would have been very, very, very close.

Great day.... results are here

http://fightingtorque.org/supercar/index.php?optio...

I reckon that once you're moving, anything with a bit of torque should be there or there abouts, unless it's a tank.

Look at the 335 diesel's results smile

Plus the auto box of the Merc shifted along nicely, was over 600bhp though smile

There's A CL600 twin turbo on AT at £28K, all 493 bhp of it.

Why do I keep seeing these lovely cars ? )

I'd do some research on here, from people who've had the DB7. They don't seem to get great reviews.

Cyclone, what are the current figure for your BM, and what was you running it at the FT meet ?

I think standard is 280 bhp, 420lbs ish ?

You got my trophy for "car's that surprised me most" smile

Out of interest has anyone put their XKR on A RR ?

Some manufacturers have been known to exaggerate, I should know driving a TVR smile

On the flip side, Gixxer's 612bhp Merc is putting out 660bhp...

Good old Germans smile
