I have a 2008 Polo 1.4Tdi (69bhp) which has covered 66k miles.

I've not had it long, but it could do with a bit more power.

Has anyone had any experience of this type of thing?

Are cheap chips worth the money? I had a £15 one on a previous Fabia VRS but it kept setting the engine warning light off....

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

£15 for a chip yikes

Probably best looking at Bluefin, Revo, Autops for a proper remap.
Yes, there were a few floating round on ebay a few years ago, it was a single plug thing. I bought the car not knowing it was fitted, it was when the light kept coming on that I took it to a dealer who found it!

Get an uprated turbo (will need special work to get on to a 3 branch manifold) - fit uprated nozzles on your PD injectors, remove EGR, decat the exhaust, replace backbox with straight pipe, fit a front mount intercooler, sport panel filter, wider air intake pipe (PD160 might fit), Good remap and probably looking at 150bhp. smile
All sounds too expensive!

I was hoping to hit the 100bhp which a chip/remap shouldn't be too far away from... Do they really give additional MPG as many claim?
