Anyone run a V5 Passat?

I'm toying with picking up a V5 passat for a winter runner . other than the obvious , are there any specific foibles , issues or observations ?

Thanks for taking the time to reply . I've bought a v5 estate 1999 v reg , so cheaper tax .
It's very smooth and pleasant to drive and returned 32 mpg according to the computer , so a pleasant surprise there too . Blue alcantara seats are a bonus !
