Lease on Golf R
Discussion
Must be a cancellation, I just ordered an R on lease and specced it as I wanted.

Here's the link to the 3-door deal too, £269 p/m. I'm very, very close to pulling the trigger on this one myself. Just hoping I won't miss the V6 in my R32 too much!

Not much has been reported on the R yet but the road tests for the new S3's engine are favourable. Unless thay have managed to really mess up the installation of the same engine in the Golf it should be a good indication. From EVO:
"The S3’s engine is a cracker: smooth-revving, lag-free and delivering serious performance without apparent effort. You can use its broad power band as you choose – working it hard, which it enjoys, or trusting the gutsy mid-range to pull a taller ratio. The engine might only be an in-line four-cylinder turbo but it is one of the best sounding that I’ve heard; it’s deep and cultured with a lovely hard edge to it."
Deals aren't that great on PCP. Was quoted after an 8% discount - 8k miles per year, 48 months, £1k deposit - with DSG, metallic, ACC at around £450 per month.
Lease is therefore allot cheaper and I can change my car for a new one after 2 years and nothing spent on maintenance or road tax.

I was actually looking at a RS4 but the offers aren't strong enough for me to be able to take the plunge. The R would provide 95% of the real world experience, obviously without a beautiful V8 soundtrack! At theose lease rates might even leave something over for a 'proper' sports car...
Just looking at these deals as well. It's a lot of car for the money, I notice the boot is slightly smaller on these compared to a standard golf although I assume the interior isn't affected?
I must be mad, I cancelled my company ordered gtd in November as I was fed up of waiting (ordered in July), however this works out quite a bit cheaper even taking insurance into consideration and this has 300bhp

With 300hp and a much stiffer bodyshell, better Haldex & better DSG, what's to miss about the asthmatic R32?http://www.bluechillicars.com/personal-contract-hi...
£270 a month covers an R32's fuel bills, just about, so you'd be better off too!
It's a no brainer for me, and yes, I do also have an R32

Like the previous R Golfs the boot is shallower compared to the rest of the range to allow for the Haldex and rear diff.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
