B5.5 Passat Yellowing Headlights

Got a 54 reg Passat, which like most the headlights arn't great on, it looks like the lense covers are going cloudy and yellowing.

Seems like a fairly common issue, but is there an easy fix? Looks like a fair bit of faffing with various grades of sandpaper, is there any other way?
