VW 1.4TDi engine

SWMBO is interested in a VAG product with this engine but was concerned about reliability issues like this one (see link).What are your experiences,comments ?

Thanks all I thought the HJ link was odd as I also scoured the VW forums and nobody seems to have anything bad to say about this engine ??
