Audi 3.0 TDI engine (2011 MY) sanity check please
Discussion
Just got a call from the head office of a large Audi dealer network telling me that the cambelt on my 2011 A5 3.0 tdi with 25k miles needs to be changed. "It's obviously up to you, but we recommend you do it otherwise it can cause catastrophic damage to your engine" etc...
£600 all in quoted.
I was under the impression this engine used a timing chain which was designed to pretty much last for the life of the engine.
Can anyone please confirm/deny?

I suggest you book the car in for the work and let the entertainment ensue Your car has a chain.
Good to know. Will do, maybe they can change my spark plugs while they're at it.
Seriously though, how bad is that? If they had called my wife she would have definitely booked it in.
