A4 170hp fuel consumption?
Discussion
What do people generally get from these engines?
I was expecting around 40-45mpg, but brim to brim has come out at 35mpg, which not only being less than I expected, but also means a tank only lasts 450 miles! By comparison, my old 1.9tdi A4 would do 700 miles on a tank. It does a 30 miles to work and back every day, so not a lot of cold driving. Mix of roads, about 14 miles duel carriageway and 14 miles back roads, 5 mins maybe in slow moving traffic, should be a equation for high efficiency.
The car isnt new, so I dont expect it to loosen up as it beds in.Done 75,000

Didnt know I could change mode! How do I know what mode Im in, and change it?
Rang local Audi dealer to have a chat and book it in for getting scanned, the service bloke said that mid 30's was pretty common for these engines and if anything was wrong the EML would be on. If that's true, its shocking! 35mpg is 20mpg less than claimed. I know they wont be the same, but 20mpg is 40% out from official figures.
