vRS Maintenance
Discussion
Hi All. Recently joined the forum, looking for some general advice please on day to day maintenance for a recently purchased vRS, 08 petrol. It's done 74K and has 7 dealer stamps and is in really good condition, I want to keep it that way. It's the first time I've owned a car of 200bhp. Whilst that won't break any land speed records I want to ensure I properly maintain this vehicle, not had a good record with other cars, mainly due to not investigating heavily in them. Any help on what needs checking and when between full services would be very much appreciated. Like oil, filters etc etc.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Personally I just let my vRS tell me when it wants work doing.
The car will either be on fixed servicing (12k) or variable (10k-20k) and the dash will tell you when you're getting close.
Of course I keep an eye on oil levels, the older TFSI engine (which yours will have) is known to drink a little oil, so keep an eye on that.
Also check to see if it's had a cambelt/waterpump change at all. If not you should probably consider one - problems there and you're in big trouble.
Its had that done thankfully, 2k miles ago. The oil was a small concern so will keep a check on that - thanks for your input, all useful, will try hard to not run this car into the ground The car will either be on fixed servicing (12k) or variable (10k-20k) and the dash will tell you when you're getting close.
