My search for an S6 or S8 continues.

I've seen a sprint blue S6 for sale. Although I love the colour on smaller S cars such as the S3 and S/RS4, I'm not so sure it suits the bigger proportions of the S6. What would you guys think?

Black's the fastest though. Something about it absorbing all the light in the spectrum that pulls it forward a little bit more...

Anyway, that sprint blue on is back up for sale at £11995 on Autotrader. He told me previously he'd take £11750 for it.

Who'd want ceramics? From what I'm lead to believe, they're a time bomb. What with cracks and chips writing them off.

No ceramics! Took me a long time to find a top spec car without the damn things - costs of replacements to one side, they are horrendous for regular road driving.....

As for spec > how about rear seat entertainment, individual electric reclining rear seats with lumbar, heated seats front and rear, massage seats front and rear, vented seats front and rear, champagne fridge in rear, adaptive cruise, full Bang and Olufsen system, extended leather, electric rear and side blinds, keyless go etc. on top of all the usual paraphernalia hehe

I have had a few of these, and have yet to see another one with all of the above wink
Wow...sounds a proper car.

Sure anyone interested in an S8 will snap it up.
I've bought a car previously owned by Mr Tickle, I've bought a car previously owned by Mir Tickle's brother too. Now I want this car. Unfortunately, funds won't permit.

Is the S6 a boggo A6 with the amazing engine? Not being pejorative, just trying to justify buying one, does it have a load of specific parts or are they as cheap to run as a 3.0tdi (apart from the obvious fuel, tax, insurance difference?)
And what MPG do you get on a run?
I've had two S6s. A saloon and now an avant. Both had over 100,000 miles on and I've had no problems whatsoever with them. I've heard that you can have problems with the engines coking up much like the RS4 and also sticky manifold flaps.

Differences over and above the bog standard S6 are the DRLs which are set into the bumper, quad exhaust, lovely sport seats and lots of real carbon fibre on the dash, door and console inserts. To be fair, you'd have to be a bit of an afficionado to spot and S6 amongst the plethora of S lines but that's why some love the understatedness of such cars.

Running costs can be quite reasonable. My insurance is £350 with 14 years NCB and my girlfriend on the policy too. Tax is a steep £500 per year. Servicing is really cheap under Audi's fixed servicing scheme. £195 for an oil service and £365 for a major including 10 platinum spark plugs as well as your filters. Tyres can be had here for £100 each. Thayre AO rated too. http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/toyo/proxes-... Some may turn up their noses at Toyos but surely two sets of Toyos for less than one set of premium brand tyres can't be sniffed at.

Also factor in the cost of an exhaust to release some of that lovely v10 noise.

Cheers. Got it booked in for a minor service at Audi next week. Then getting the wheels done a gunmetal grey and last but not least the exhaust. The exhaust will have to wait a month or so though.

Well the effects of the claybar, polishing and waxing didn't last long. I stayed at my parent's on Friday night. Parked the car on the street and on Saturday afternoon came back to this...

No details left. Looks worse than it is. The majority is white paint transfer from the other vehicle. I think most of it will polish out. Whatever is left, I may try my hand at wet sanding. Gutted was not the word.
