Tune2air adaptor - 2009 Audi A4

Hi all - does anyone have one of these? I got one from Father Christmas yesterday... I can get the music to play but it's quite temperamental and I can't control it via the MMI menu - any advice?

I've an iPhone 6 running on 8.1.2 software. The Tune2Air is a WMA1000 as recommended for Audi/VW's. I'm just trying to stream the music stored on my phone, not Spotify.....any suggestions gratefully received!
