Hi,

The OH's 58 plate TT 2.0TFSI has had a problem with a noisy and occasionally sticking driver window for a while. Audi advised it was the regulator but the OH decided not to change it as they apparently said it wasn't much of a problem...

Anyway, it has failed entirely today - stuck in the fully open position and the switch doesn't do anything to raise it. I'm hoping the motor hasn't bust r as well but anyway Audi have quoted around 500 quid to change the regulator.

Apart from trying to secure the window tonight, I was going to get on to some local specialists (in Nottingham) tomorrow but does anyone have any costs for this job or on the off-chance any recommendations for repairs in the Nottingham area. The stealer quote sounds a lot to me!

Thanks
Steve

Edited to add - some on the TT forum seem to have recently had these replaced FOC out of goodwill from Audi even if out of warranty, with some suggestion that Audi have agreed to this if the car has a FSH etc. If anyone has any experience with that please let me know, cheers.

Thanks,

Yep - initially the service guy said he knew nothing of it but after some "discussion" the quality manager called me back and agreed to replace it FOC. Seems fairly decent service to me considering the car is well out of warranty although it does sound like the part perhaps wasn't up to scratch.

Cheers
Steve
