Recently had my car in a for a service and to look at a grinding noise on braking.

So it had a full service, 4 new springs (1 front and 1 back were snapped), and new pads and discs up front.

And still i have the grinding noise, and its driving me nuts!

The only other things which need further attention is a split CV boot (i think thats what the service report said), and a wire that has something to do with the brakes abs sensor (brakes warning light on dash).

Has anyone any ideas if the two issues mentioned above could be the cause of the grinding noise, or any other ideas on what may be causing it? Of course the car is going back to the service centre for them to double check everything, but i can't get it there until Friday.

Its just had near front pads and discs, as we thought the grinding noise was the heavily corroded (on the inner edge) discs, and pads were on 3mm.

There is a break warning light on the dash (thought to be caused by the broken sensor wire).

The noise is only really noticable when breaking at slow speeds, ie coming to a rest for lights etc.

So if you lift off the brake the noise stops? Back on the pedal it comes back?

Sorry for the bump, but this is still ongoing, i've had the back plates taken off (1 was cracked), and replaced. To do this the pads and discs had to come off. But the noise is still there under braking!
