Help please. Audi 1.9 tdie 2009 - wife filled tank with petr

Hi

My wife filled our diesel A3 with petrol. The tank prior to filling was nearly empty so now has a full tank of petrol.
She drove for circa 50 miles before loosing power and eventually the engine stalled and would not start again.

Can anyone give me an indication of cost to repair and is it likely I will need to have the engine replaced? Currently I'm waiting for Audi to price the work but want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Thanks all! I've arranged for the car to be towed to a local garage so hopefully it'll be cheaper.
