remapping the 3litre tdi VAG engine

I've found a co called bluefin that offer a remap of this engine around the 290bhp level for a 2010/11 model.
Is this reasonable on this engine or is there more to be had both reliably and at reasonable cost (<£1000)
Do VAG out this engine in anything else other than the a4 avant we looked at?

Sorry I didn't explain that very well. We need a mid sized estate so is it in anything from Skoda/Seat/VW etc. I can't find a skoda one mind.
