Audi A6 Avant 3.0 tdi Multitronic
Discussion
Hi all, my first visit to this forum (normally on TVR page).
First off I have read that the tiptronic quarto is better than the 2 wheel drive multitronic, but I can not stretch to it financially.(either purchase price or mpg)
I am collecting a 2012 car on Wedenesday that is 3.0 tdi and multitronic
Is there any checks I can do about the gear box condition ?
Second would it be foolish to have the car remapped (chipped) for more power and better mpg?
I am thinking about the gearbox and the extra torque.
Cheers to anybody that takes the time to reply.

Thanks Scott.
The car I am looking at (have put deposit on)has done 78K and still drives very nicely.
I really want to unleash a bit more power, but I wondered why Audi limit the 3.0tdi to 204 ps when fitted with multitronic, but then up the output to 245 ps when mated to quarto auto box.
I don't want to break anything !

Thanks Alex , I was worried about putting a lot of strain on a weak gearbox design.
It does creep, but not really enough for my liking.
A lot of the time you have to use throttle when maneovering, which is a little annoying as it can be a 'quick' on take up.
Perthaps its just a case of getting used to it (and stop playing with different settings)
