Hi All,

I am looking at above. I have a budget of approx 60k. The M6 is hugely specced and looks fab both in and out in the coupe form.

The Audi is Quattro which means it has great grip all year round and will be rapid off the line. It has more space which will be good with the 3 and 7 year old kids. The estate form is less attractive to me.

I currently have a S5 so the coupe is definitely working well.

My concern is of course depreciation and handling. The M6 is more than halved in 3 years i.e. 2012 is sub 50k. The Audi is sitting at £60-65k for a year old car.

Also I don't particularly want a lively car, i.e. back end slipping out when pushed a bit. I do want something rapid and something with character i.e. a lovely V8 rumble.

What would you gents go for if you were me?

Thanks,
LP

I have never owned a 4 door car! I am 35 and its always been 2 or 3 doors. I prefer the way they look.

Interesting you gents mention the RS7. I only recently considered it. Not sure about the way it looks from the back. Its like the back end has been squashed down.

I also considered the Bentley GT. Its 4 wheel drive and rapid but I don't think I could afford to maintain it.. also the interior is looking dated on the 2010 year.

I think you are right. BMW lose a lot of money! I keep going round in circles!

Not thought about the S6 tbh. I did look at the S8 on Autotrader this morning. They are very lush. I do like it smile

Similar position to the OP... went from a 2-seater (Aston V8V) and needed an estate to cart everything around in... Went for the RS6 and am not disappointed. It is an epic car: understated but incredibly fast and surprisingly drivable for a 2tonne + car
How are you finding the shift from the AM coupe to a estate. It's a huge difference in looks.

How are you coping with the move from a coupe to a estate?!
