My B7 Avant drivers door has stopped unlocking with the remote, all other doors/tailgate still unlock and all doors including drivers lock using the remote. Now I have to unlock the drivers door using the key, tried WD40 in the lock and recoding the remote, holding the door handle up while pulling the interior door release but no fix. What's next ?

Where's the module located ? Tried to check the wiring between the body and the door as I've read it can break there, disconnected the rubber boot from the body side but couldn't get it off the door.

My Passat did something similar - but intermittently. It's a 55 plate so I can't imagine the parts are much different.
What appears to have fixed my problem was getting some oil spray and using the red straw from a WD40 can to aim a measurable amount down the lock.
Tried WD40 in the keyhole and around the lock until it dripped out the bottom of the door. Initially after unlocking with the key it would unlock with the remote but now it's the key only.

The Passat forums advised slamming the door a few times (seriously) and funny enough it would play ball after a combo of swear words, door slams and using the internal door-release -
Tried this, no worky...frown .

Thanks for the reply, as AGK suggested also. I know someone with VAGCOM I'll ask them to do a test.

It's much easier to replace the whole lock unit, once you have the lock units apart, getting them back together correctly is a pig of a job.
Not sure if we're talking about the same thing but saw a clip on youtube, the locking module is held together with screws around the outside. Split it to access the micro switches. How hard is it to remove the module though ?
