mk6 Golf GTD v Leon 184 FR

Hello,
I was thinking about a Golf mk6 GTD as my next car however the prices are a bit higher than I expected, and anything low miles(ish) is commanding an additional premium.
My budget was about 12-13K however I now see Leon FR 184's below 15K. Is it worth the financial stretch to the newer MQB platform Leon?
So basically, 2012 Golf GTD 50K miles v 2014 Leon FR 184 20K miles.
I'll likely keep it for 3 years and 50K miles. Also the Golf engine is the one affected by the emissions problem the Leon engine is not? Is that correct?
