Discover media sat nav speed settings

I must be losing my touch as I can't find out how to change the speed settings. Currently it appears that the sat nav expects me to average the speed limit all the way, which is insane and leads to seriously underestimated arrival times (e.g. 22 minutes for the 33 minute drive to work). Am I missing an obvious setting somewhere?
