The Scirocco R Lease Thread
Discussion
Mine is at the dealership..... must show some restraint in not picking it up early! March the 3rd I am going for.... Can't wait! Haven't had a car since last August when I had to sell my Cayman S to buy a house, driving the GF's 1.6TDI Golf Estate hasn't really been cutting it! So yeah... Cannot wait!
Yeah, the Rocco is the more expensive car, and it's not MQB based? Is that right, essentially I was holding out for new version, based on the new Golf R, a 310bhp 4WD Scirocco would have been amazing, but alas not to be!
This will do fine though, cruise would have been nice, but i'll take DCC over it as I mainly avoid Motorway driving.

Sorry I missed this, no I haven't taken out gap insurance as of yet. The wheel mark really easily too, I had to get up onto a really small curb (no choice) even creeping really bloody slowly I have managed to cause a small ding in the rim! Arse! Just a word of warning when you get yours!
So, 11 days in, 600 miles done already haha! Cannot stop driving it at the moment, still trying to determine what the best DCC mode is on British Roads, not found the ideal level of turn in and commitment yet, its very different from what I have come from. But is a bloody civilised place to be, Mrs loves it too. So it's all good!

Picked up my indium grey DSG yesterday, wasn't expecting a great deal, coming from the technically superior mk7 golf R, but have been in for a pleasant surprise!, it rides really well in comfort mode (far better than a stock 7R on 18's), and firms up nicely in sport. Thought i would miss the driving modes, but nice to see the DCC also alters the steering. Handling really isnt in the same league as the Golf, and this really isnt a car that begs you to throw it around, but it does respond well when you do. I blame the slow steering, it could definitely benefit from a variable ratio rack. Other observations are that is sounds brilliant, and does this purely from engine/intake and exhaust, without needing any of the fakery in the 7R. Also stock sound system is surprisingly excellent. Overall, super pleased, as suits what I need it for perfectly, but if thrills and chuckability are whats desired, this may not be the car for many!
I would agree, I can't compare it the Golf R, but I am still getting used to its dynamics and how much you can sling it into a bend... I am not quite there at full commitment yet. Its a very different beast from the Cayman obviously, I am only just getting used to the weight being up front again! The sound is great, I have heard the Golf R speaker is awful and overbearing. For my summary so far, I think its a lovely quick car that can cover the ground really well, and one I don't have to think about to much when doing so, still glad I opted for the manual.
So has anyone had Oil Service come up on theirs now? 18 months and 13,000 miles in, Oil Service Due in 30 days or 500 miles. The actual service plan is on a 20,000 long life plan.
Already had to fork out for 2 new tyres and tracking as they were totalled on the inside, reluctant to fork out more cash with 6 months to go.
