Some advice please, need to replace the battery on my A6. Part number on battery is 4F0915105D. Have been told that the part number has been superseded and that I need to buy an Audi battery as a non Audi battery does not have the compatable energy saving built in. Have also been told by my local car spares supplier that I need a gel battery!

Has anyone got any idea what the part number of the superseded battery is and/or what the CCA and other values should be. Car is an '07 Avant s Line Quattro.

Thanks

Thank you, that is the clearest explanation I have had, makes far more sense now. And thank you for the kind offer but I am in deepest, darkest Essex.

I bought the battery two years ago, it is a direct replacement from VARTA the OEM supplier. It has worked perfectly and has been recoded etc by the AA after a previous flat battery incident exactly as you described.

The battery has a 5 year warranty and is going to be returned but I want to make sure that I am getting the correct battery as a replacement and that I have done everything correctly before I return it. A local independent is going to do a drop test for me next week as the suppliers have told me that they will not refund/replace anything unless it is returned to them for testing so suggest I order a new one and then if at fault they will refund the cost of the battery and postage so just want to be certain it is the battery!

My local main dealer has suggested that the battery CCA etc may have changed and EuroCarParts have even suggested I now need a gel battery so all a bit confusing!
