Thanks for the replies guys, I did have a feeling that there wouldn't be much I could do without spending a few grand on superchargers or even more on ripping out the engine and replacing it.
I've already dropped it down on some fully adjustable all done for a couple of hundred quid. I suppose I could fit a K&N to make it more "GrOwLy..." But apart from that, I'll just enjoy the heated leather and cruising speeds 😊

I think I was being a little premature with wanting to uprate the car, whilst the wife was out today, the engine suddenly died and now won't fire..time for some more workshop time ??

Found the source of the problem after much searching. Firstly, pulled the air intake pipe and give it a blast of "super juice"(as my dad calls it 😂) and the engine fired, very briefly, checked the fuel pump fuse, all good.
Next checked the solenoid and you could feel it clicking as you turned the key.
Last but not least, pulled the wires from the pump under the back seat...pump is DeAd 😲...
£214 for a new one..this is a Mother's Day present the wife will never forget 😂😂😂

Our 170 is a good distance cruiser, but as you say, very thirsty about 21-24mpg around town but it does have a bit more poke than the 150.
I do agree though, it is a nice place to be sitting when you mash your foot down on the loud peddle tongue out
