Hi,

Does anyone know if a current Pistonheads user owns my old Griff? It's a Starmist Blue / Magnolia 500HC, which was originally registered N755 GLC. I sold it in 2005 to a guy in south west London (I think).

It looked pretty standard when I sold it, but I'd spent a fortune on the engine with a Taraka cam rebuilt, ACT triple throttle plenum, race exhausts etc. etc.

Can anyone help me?

No, how do you do that? I've had a quick look on their site and can't see anywhere obvious.

just put the reg no into Westealanycar.com and it came up with the right details, but I don't know if that necessarily means it's not on a private plate now.

Not coming up on AskMID, so I'm presuming it's either SORNd or it's running on a private plate.

Identifying features of the car are:-

Starmist blue with blue hood / magnolia half hide
Blue wheels with polished rims

Under the bonnet, it loooked like this:-

I think if anyone had seen it recently, they'd remember it!

"DVLA website" says N755 GLC is unlicensed and has been so since 01 Oct 2009.
Do you know if that means it's been transferred onto a private plate or it's been scrapped?

I had it dynoed at 330bhp and 330 lb/ft. Other than what you can see, it's got Bosch injectors and air flow meter, Mark Adams chip and tune, race cats in ACT headers, Taraka cam, solid lifters, and probably more that I've forgotten about.

I made those bits myself along with the 'Red Bull' coil cover. All the water and fuel pipes were chromed, the tanks and rocker covers polished, with Samco hoses and Magnecor leads. All in a bid to tidy up an otherwise ppretty ugly RV8 engine bay!

That would be a tragic shame. I'm hoping someone on here is familiar with the car's recent history and maybe knows or knows of the owner.

Very impressive indeed I have engine bay envy now!

Can I correctly assume you are looking for your old car as you would like it back or are you asking out of interest? According to the DLVA it hasn't been scrapped so chances are it is tucked away safely in someone garage or perhaps it is on a private plate.

If you are serious about tracking the car down it might be worth contacting the TVRCC as well.
A bit of both really. Whilst I'm not in a position to buy the car back now, I'd like to stay in touch with the current owner, so that if he did decide to sell in the future, I'd at least have the opportunity to have her back!

I'm not a member of the TVRCC anymore. Is there anyone here who is, who could do a check for me?

Anything steel was chromed, and anything ali was polished.

I'd had a few niggly reliability issues, and my company driver was up for renewal, so I sold it and bought an M3 CSL, which I then sold to go racing in a Caterham for a couple of seasons.

Rob! Just seen this post! Do you still, still have her?

Definitely would like first refusal when you're ready to move on.
