It would be a nice idea to hoist it up into a garage roof space, but I don't have one.....the garage roof is flat and level with the top back garden and forms a patio/BBQ area.

Went to Keystone casters today, but they've closed their Brissle branch frown ....now all supplied out of Brummieland. rolleyes

So yes, was going to put some wheels on the frame to move the body around as its hogging the center of the garage at the mo where Cerbie lives !

Casters arrived Tues....been doing other things when its been dry but as of yesterday I now have an engine dolley:

And as of today, the body dolley has wheels too:

What you can't see from this shot though is how much the tube is bending under the load.....these bodies weigh more than you think.....no its not proper chassis tube in all fairness....just some old gash stuff I had kicking about. smile

As of last night, a bare chassis was achieved.

Today it went in the press. When bluebottle had his mishap, the accident caused the nearside front wheel to move fwd pulling the top rail outwards by around an 1/8", despite the engine mount being there, although I suspect not helped by the outrigger corner being weakened with age giving no resistance to a downward outward force.

As you can see it didn’t quite fit in the workshop but hey ho, the day was dry:

With the engine cross beam in place and a suitable bit of 4x2, time to squish back n place:

Next, find a local shot blaster. smile

Got the chassis back during last week after shot blasting.

They gave it a primer coat just to keep the surface rust away.

Anyway, there's no way this car had a legal MOT since the so called repairs in 2006, as the chassis has a few holes here and there, the worst had an attempted mig welding job through the wheel arch.

What part of the chassis is that ?
Offside top rail by the engine mount.

That's what happens when you can't get to the job with the body in the way and try to mig weld rust !

what an odd place for it to go.....
I would have thought not as its near the exhaust manfolds, but apparently yes Griffs don't go like Cerbs do....perhaps Cerb manifolds run hotter ???

The other side is gone there too but nowhere near to same extend, and no bodge repair has been attempted.
