As some of you know, I traded up from a tidy but slightly tired Griff 500 around 2 years ago when I bought Ant's 4.6 Pre Cat.

Had lots of fun with the car but felt the need to make my mark on it, so dropped it off with John and Cath (Trim Technician) a few months ago after chatting with them at the 'Back Home' event last September.

Pretty chuffed with the results - wanted a new colour (original interior was doeskin half hide and green carpet) but aiming to keep the factory look albeit with slightly more up to date materials, no quilting though!

Gone for green and black as you can see, (heated) Cerb seats, new carpet set, new rear hood (and re-cover split targa panels to match), head lining, all new seals, seatbelts etc. Lots of little touches (eg carbon dipped steering wheel) - overall its turned out just how I wanted and the smell of new leather is now filing the garage...

Quality of the work is superb, hopefully it's now good for another 22 years smile

Have kept the original seats, the Sportmotive roll hoop is staying out for the time being as no further track/drag strip adventures planned hehe (might be open to offers for the roll hoop if anyone is interested).

Cheers - had lots of design help with this one biggrin

Its not a wrap its a dip - google "Hydro dipping".

John got the steering wheel and column shroud dipped, (along with the fire extinguisher!)

I quite like it but if a new owner didn't its so thin that a rattle can of satin black over the top will take it back to standard.

Cheers all, determined to make it to the Growl next year so you can see it in the flesh

Chris - the colour change is your fault - had been thinking about it until I saw the job you did on the 500. You tipped the balance thumbup

re the Carbon Fibre effect, did you get the dash done in the same way using Hydro Dipping or is the dash a new sheet of carbon fibre ? if dipped, what was the dashboard base to start with (ie matt black pained steel?)
No mate - its pukka CF, bit of a one off courtesy of the previous owner (Ant) who also replaced the clock with air/fuel ratio gauge, deleted the boot release pushbutton and had a custom warning strip made up (handiest feature of which is a 'fans' warning light). He also sourced a very trick speedo - precat style but with digital odometer and interfaced properly with the Emerald ECU. Its a pretty tidy job - LED illuminated, wiring all sorted behind as well - no rattles or squeaks.

The Sony head unit is a nice extra - it has a pop out tray behind the faceplate for you to connect your iPod - completely hidden and controlled from the front panel.. Unfortunately the exhaust is so loud music is only relevant when its parked up...

Was terrified something'd get damaged during the retrim but John took really good care of it.
