Griff front number plate

Is it still possible to have a small front number plate made or is it now illegal these days to get one made. Does anyone know of a place that can supply?

I'm with you Doc. Orered a standard one to keep in the boot just in case.

Technically, if it's a non standard plate, I believe it's being sold to you as a 'show plate' and if you use it on the road you are liable to be pulled.
However it seems a rare occurrence, especially if you spec a standard font.

It's a bit much to expect your garage to mot it with an illegal plate though, so keep your standard plate and swap it over when the time comes. Of course if you keep your standard plate in the boot and are unfortunate enough to have a brush with the law, you can always plead you forgot to take your show plate off and offer to swap it over there and then. It'd be a cruel and heartless bib who nicked you in those circumstances
