Advice needed on car transport

I'm pleased to say all the jobs are done now, apart from fitting Petegriff's s/s exhaust tray. So a big thanks to many of you answering my frequent cries for help over the last 6 months on this forum. There is however one last biggy - that is to get a new paint job. I've talked to a few spray shops and S&D by far gave me most confidence about knowing their way around the car and generally about GRP and sikaflex - and right down to detail like sourcing original under-bonnet stickers. Problem is I'm in Herts and they're in Blackpool.... and the car is presently SORNed; so I've decided to get it transported up to its birthplace. I tried getting a few transport quotes and they vary by an order of magnitude and to be frank I didn't like the sound of at least half of them. So rather than read about my griff falling off one of these on the M6 I'd love to hear any good transporter advice or even about a southern equivalent to S&D. Thanks again fellas.

Your post just reminded me I could get the interior sorted at DC while it's up there for painting. Sounds like an expensive January coming up.......is this worse than being on crack or what?
