Headlamp flash

I had a problem with the headlights on my `99 500 recently and have fitted a new indicator switch, original problem sorted. However, I have now noticed that, with no lights switched on, if I flash the lights I get the main beam warning light come on, as expected, but also the panel lights (rev counter, speedo, fuel gauge etc) light up. It may have done that before, I just not noticed, or it may be that I need to look further, Anyone know if their's does the same?
