I will be using the TVR PAS rack as I've been happily running this on my Griffith for last five years.
Can't wait to find out how the engine performs.
The extra bracing has improved the chassis stiffness and I have no idea where I'm going to put the Dry sump oil tank.
Hope I work it out wink

Hi griffdude
Given the engine oil can get very hot, what would you do to stop the heat transferring into the passenger cabin?

I believe Andy Race had his Dry sump oil tank mounted in the boot. I would like to keep the oil tank as close to the engine as I can get it.

Thanks for your interest
Here are some answers to some of the questions:

The engine is based on a 6 litre Wildcat Rover block 101.6mm bore x 92mm stroke
45mm Wildcat throttle bodies, Wildcat stage one heads 1.85 and 1.55 valves
Steel crank, H-beam steel rods, forged pistons, Pace BG 3-stage dry sump pump. Titan motorsport dry sump oil pan
I have not specified the cam, yet but it will be a roller cam
Custom made stainless steel 1.75" i.d. exhaust manifolds into a single 3" system.

I'm not running a thermostat, instead I will be using an electric water pump and the controller will regulate the water temp.

The chassis was mounted to a chassis jig and stiff tests carried out to measure the stiffness
As a result of the improvements made, the chassis is now 300% stiffer than the original. The chassis stiffness will be improved further when the roll cage is added.

I found the wheels on the American Ebay auction site. The seller was happy to ship to the UK.

Your Turbo AJP engine by ICE and a modified chassis by Chris & Ged would make an awesome TVR.
I look forward to that day.

The Wildcat business has been bought by ACR as Ian Richardson the founder retired.
ACR now own the rights to Wildcat heads and are now producing Wildcat heads.

The 6-litre block were specially cast in limited numbers. They are different to the standard blocks.
6 fixings per cylinder compared to the standard 4 fixings. More material around each cylinder liner to allow the block to be machined up to a 4" (101.6mm) bore.
Ian machined the blocks with different modifications dependant on the customer's intended use, so not all 4" (101.6mm) blocks are the same.

Hi Alan
Thanks
Good to see you're motivated.
I'm going to make an air box over the throttle bodies, fed via a tube from the front of the car with a big air filter at the end of it.

Hi Alan
I'm focused on the body which is going to take a few months. Hoping to have the body on the chassis by the summer.
Will keep you posted.

Here's the latest
My Tremec TR3550 gearbox came with 0.68 fifth gear which is good for Motorway cruising but not suitable for track day work. After hunting around for a different 5th gear ratio, I spoke to Paul at Libertys Gears in the USA. Somewhere in his workshop, he had the rare no longer available 28-spline mainshaft with 0.82 fifth gear set that was a High performance road race option for my gearbox.
The other companies I contacted offered an alternative method of changing fifth gear which involved internal machining of the tail end of my gearbox casing to fit the later 31-spline mainshaft with a 0.85 ratio from the current Tremec TKO gearboxes.
After more time spent researching the web and further discussion with Paul at Libertys Gears, I purchased the following parts - Carbon fibre lined blocking rings for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, bronze shifter fork pads, modified 1st & 2nd shifter rail with a stronger spring, neutral switch & Speedo blanking blanks, Pro 5.0 mid shift kit and the rare 28-spline Mainshaft with 0.82 fifth gear set.

These arrived mid January

Paul Nash - Race car engineer / Consultant - stripped the gearbox and fitted the parts.
He reported on inspection that the gearbox is 'as new' inside with no evidence that it has ever been run. For some reason, it has a used input shaft fitted. He concluded this was done to change the input splines from the originals the gearbox came with for its then intended installation.

Happy Days

Hi Alan
Could you not fit a T5 or Getrag. The Getrag 5 speed gearboxes out of Jaguars and BMW's were used as an upgrade to the LT77 gearbox years ago. John Eales used to sale bellhousing to mate them to the Rover V8 engine. He might still sell them.
