As the title really, is there a preferred order for these works?

My thinking is as follows:

1 - Carpet
2 - Roof
3 - Paint

Rationale is:
1 - Carpet fitting could damage paint and could affect roof alignment/tightness, so do it first.
2 - Roof will be removed to paint and should be refitted "perfectly". No issues if roof fitting damages paint.
3 - Painting last prevents other sources of damage, however roof fit may not be perfect afterwards.

Is this sensible or have I lost it? The roof is probably my last priority as I don't really use it unless I have to.

Of course I could take the car to Bristol Avenue and do everything at once but finances may not allow such an approach!

A good perspective! I'd not considered the dust element of getting the bodywork looking great despite having been to S&D, Central TVR and Option1 in the past and witnessed the billowing clouds produced.

Happy enough to strip the interior myself, considering fitting myself but time/£ equation against me.

What year and color is it ?
1995, Olympic Blue pearl (PPG01) with navy carpets with Wedgewood piping, full dark blue leather interior with Wedgewood door cards and a blue roof. Close to perfect combination in my eyes.

Is that a BMW color ? And yes, any pro trimmer will cover the bodywork.

What £ quotes have you had for the re paint ?
According to Potato Muncher's list http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... it is an original TVR colour. Haven't sought quotes yet but bodywork is my first area of interest so will progress it imminently. Current thoughts are Option 1 in Bromsgrove (fairly near me), possibly S&D (not near me at all!), Washington Coachworks (not that near me)
