Ok I am in a bit of a dilemma now do I change my Seats ( one needs a repair) or fit different ones if so what options do I have ? Your input welcome :-)
Or do I get my originals modified ie better side support head rests embroided TVR have the leather quilted etc ? I am sure there are a lot off ways to go ,
What are my temptations oh the seats are biscuit colour .
Thanks
Ste.

Hmmm my best option is Mazda mx5 theirs plenty of cheap cloth ones about , I have been quoted five hundred to fully cover them in quilted biscuit hide ? So I might go for that !!
The other option would be to have the originals done but get bolsters fitted for support ?
Opinions please.

Nice neutral 3, however like hens teeth I cant find any !! think I am now going the Mazda mx5 mk3 route , Lighter and more supportive than the Griff just a modification to the rails to do but when you have a whole fab shop to yourself its not a problem biggrin
I shall do some before and after shots if anyone is interested to see how the go ?

Have a look at Intatrim's website - Odessey II I think are the ones, though they have several styles that might suit. They will make them two tone in leather if you wish (ignore the pics that show mono-tone), and the prices are very reasonable (under £500 a pair). A number of Chim owners have bought them, if that doesn't put you off. They will also do TVR logos for a few quid - just ask. I would recommend toddling over to Telford to have a look and sit, prior to buying, if it was me.

I won some Mazda mx5 mk3 seats off flea bay last night very very good condition £30
So now going to adjust rails to my height and send them to the trimmers mid week :-)

I've got MX5 ones in my Chim so I assume they would fit straight in a Griff?, really cheap, about £90 for a pair in a faded tan leather colour so it was about £70 or so for the furniture clinic colour kit and they just use the existing runners.
You can remove some original foam and you get much better support. Some people don't like the look of them because of the speakers in the headrest but it's probably the most enjoyable modification i've done because you can actually hear music when the roof is off. People always say you don't need a stereo with the engine soundtrack but I think it gets boring quickly on long runs smile
I opted for the cloth no speakers but was tempted into getting these ?

Think they look nice recovered was they a full re-trim or was they painted ?

I just recoloured them using the furniture clinic kit, quite easy to do and really effective.
Going to remove some of the foam over the weekend (foamectomy)
Would this be the stuff ?

Here's some photos of the adapted Mazda seats ,they are very close fit so measurements are critical

MX5 seats have been commonly fitted to E Types as the footwell width ( like the Griffs ) is so narrow. I like the sound of the Elise seats. I nearly bought a lovely 98 Elise 2 summers ago, but for the life of me, I can't recall what the seats were like !
Very little padding but look nice yes
