Hi Peeps...Unfortunately due to the lack of interest in communicating with me from your current Griff organiser then it will now remain the Wedgefest this year and you are invited as our guests..This was talked about last year and the same thing happened then...So it never happened...I personally don't have time for politics or people's personal opinions and would prefer if they were left at the main gate!.

However it would be nice if one of you could liaise with me as there are some things which need to be covered for you..i:e..Concourse car judging..BHP shootout..DB challenge..Charity auction/Raffle..etc..This can be coupled with us in the suite on the Saturday night when we do ours after the meal.

It would be nice to have you included in the run-out and evenings entertainment..Also the Friday night meal...This is NOT the Wedgefest in one corner and the Griffgrowl in the other, We will be parking together and hopefully enjoying the weekend together.

I do need to know who is coming so that i can cater for you as regards to food and placements..This is preferably done by emailing me directly as i do not wish to advertise the fact that people are away from their homes for a weekend..Especially on a public forum.

Here is the agenda so far..

If anyone is interested in working with me on this then please contact me directly....Many thanks...Ziga

Thanks for invite, looking forward to it. Hopefully no rain this year
Hi mate...Thats what I'm hoping..Hopefully being the first week of July most of the poo would of past...I think we have had rain for the last 4 Wedgefest's...Last years was no exception, It managed to put the whole day 2hrs behind schedule although everything worked out in the end...

Some hardcore Wedgers....smile

Cheers...Ziga

PS: Unfortunately people need to find alternative accommodation if they plan to stay for the weekend, I suggest booking somewhere asap though...

Thanks Doc..Just hope we don't clash with all the bicycles that will be there the same weekend..
Here are some details about that...
http://www.tourofengland.co.uk/tours/nspcc-tour-of...

idea...Maybe people could book their rooms before they do...I will donate all proceeds from the auction to the NSPCC and i have a tent they can use.....A good trade off....smile
Last year we raised £1,000 for Spinal muscular atrophy ..Actually it was slightly more but i had to keep a little back for this year...Just a thought...

Politics
I thought a Wedge Griffith event was a great idea. Hope it happens one day
I will attend weather permitting
I totally agree..But it is just the name of the event that would change anyway, The foundations are still there...As long as the majority enjoy themselves then its mission accomplished.

Each year we have a Polo shirt, Cap and a FREE mug with the event symbolised on it..Initially if it was a combined event then the artwork would represent this..However it will still have "The Wedgefest 2015 with Griffith guest's" on it..Im looking into sponsorship for these and might be able to source funding for a mug with a Griff on it with "The Griffs at the Wedgefest 2015" on it..
Not sure if you have shirts & Caps at your GriffGrowl?...It would be good to have someone organise it...At a push i can arrange this but will need deposits for the artwork and payment for the garments..I usually stick a couple of pounds on for charity but last year the shirt and cap came out at £20...Inc a small added charity donation.

Personally i love the memorabilia..When I'm too old to drive my Wedge anymore then i will have all those good memories to reflect back on...smile

All we really need is good weather...The rest is up to us....Cheers...Ziga

Out of interest, what happened to the Griff growl? is that not happening?
Hi mate...The Chase had hardly any weddings in 2013..Mainly due to the 13 in the date...So last year..This year and next year they have been inundated with people wanting to get married..Last year i used my initiative and booked for this year when i arrived..
Unfortunately your organiser didn't and as a consequence could secure a date..I was blamed for stealing your weekend?...But as I'm a nice bloke i decided to invite you to combine the Growl with the Fest..Which i thought would be a great idea, And so did the rest of the Wedge fraternity...However after numerous attempts to contact your organiser it soon became clear that he wasn't/Isn't interested in talking to me??...So its now the Wedgefest with Griffs as guests...I have had two people cancel their bookings who own Griffs which is a shame as I'm trying to organise the weekend for all of us.

It would of been nice for someone to step up and represent the Griffs..

Im now in a position whereas I'm not sure that i should continue to invite traders as the majority are for your benefit...They don't cater for us ...

Please can i have a general consensus ...

I believe you are booked up for the next two years at EC...However we are not so we will be your guests next year...smile

Let me know whats happening please...Cheers...Ziga

Hi Peeps...I have managed to find some alternate accommodation for the BBWFWG 2015 weekend, They are within a few miles of the Chase and have nearly the same rates...I have managed to secure a possible discount if people stay for two nights..

This way you can still come and join in the weekends fun...It might mean a short minicab journey in the evening so that you can relax and have a drink...

Please email me directly as there are only a small number available.

Many thanks...Ziga

Hi Folks

Here is the Saturday night menu if you are interested...It will be £15 per head...This can be paid to me or added to your room.

You will receive a personalised invitation on the day with a slip that will entitle you to your delicious evening meal..With i might add has no restrictions on how much you can eat....Then the slip will need to be handed back to me once you have finished your meal..This is just to avoid any confusion as to who has or hasn't paid...Which happened last year...You will also be asked to comment on your food quality but this year should see the same standard as last year which i thought was 100 times better than it had been previously...The new chef was a blessing for them.

As said please let me know if you have any allergies or food restrictions...

BBWF 2015 Saturday evening dinner & Dance..(Optional)

Starter

Cold meat platter with a choice of..
Caribbean rice salad
Beetroot & Orange salad
Five bean salad
Potato salad
Coleslaw
Tomato. Mixed leaves, Cucumber

Main course

Cajun spiced white fish on a bed of stir-fry vegetable noodles
Spinach tortellini with cherry tomato sauce
Jacket potato with various fillings
Spiced couscous
Crushed new potatoes
Braised white cabbage

Dessert

All this will be followed by an evenings live entertainment and a fair consumption of laughing juice....
