Hmmm, since my rear (seatbelt anchor) qrt panel carpet sections discoloured grey from tan and rotted, I am assuming that filling void between boot and these areas may well be the cure- that and re-fitting a plastic membrane behind the carpet panels.
I shall also look into sourcing a better replacement or supplementary balloon type boot seal (inflated cycle innertube would prob work well- or a foam rubber that would not retain water, fitted in gap around seal?

I am assuming that the problem of opening windows a crack with hood up, must be due to lowering cabin pressure with passing airflow and thus pulling in fumes through rear qrt carpet pieces?

Anyone know where i can get just those rear qrt carpet pieces? - Also looking for inexpensive leather repairer to repair small area of car seat base
