ACT Cherry Bomb Exhaust

Hi All.
I am not really happy with the exhaust note on my Griff. I have tried various combinations, and have never quite achieved what I am looking for. At the moment I have the pre cats removed std Y piece and std exhaust, I quite like the depth of tone of this set up, but would definitely benefit from a bit more volume. I have used the same set up with my decat Y piece (Clive F) this performs really well but the sound is a little too metallic for my liking although it is great over 3k rpm. I have also had a straight through system which was too loud and shouty for my liking, and I felt that the engine lost a considerable amount of power with this pipe for some reason.
So my next step is to investigate the ACT cherry bomb system, but before parting with the readies for one of these I would like to know your experiences of this setup, or any other options that may be available.
