Washer fluid connectors

Hi,
The plastic connector that carries washer fluid through the bulkhead has snapped off on my car (at the point just under the wiper arm). I ordered some new connectors which arrived but they don't look much like the ones on my car and I can't fathom how to get the old one out. Will it just lever out? The plastic looks quite brittle. Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
