I know this is a topic that often strikes up: 'Who Cares?' But for what ever reason never been bothered about how many MPGs i'm getting. However returning my car from Blackpool down to the West Country a week last Saturday became the excellent opportunity (which I did not set out to do) to find out! I filled the tank right up (as you do!) at Blackpool and headed south with a few added minor detours on route and then my next use a couple of days later with less than quarter in the tank I drove further south to Warminster - With the aid of Google maps this came to exactly 250 miles. When filling up the tank again, this came to £52.28 and I had placed 45.11 litres in there. Just over 45 litres works out a fraction short of 10 gallons - Giving me a run of 25mph - Not bad for a 5 litre car!

Interesting guys.... I was told last summer that my fuel consumption would be better by all of 2 - 3 miles per gallon as per Lloyd Developments when I had the new Canems ECU unit fitted and remapped. I have no idea what I was getting before hand. Coming down from Blackpool last week, was a good run, the motorway was quiet and mainly sticking to lanes 1 and 2 - due to having the respray only two weeks before hand and the paint was described as 'soft' and needs another two to three weeks to properly harden - therefore it was mostly 60 / 70mph all the way down. Yeah, I think we're be lucky to get better figures beyond 25mpg for the old five litre! After all the engine is now 20 years old!

Average of 20 mpg over 2000 mls with my Griff 4.0 HC .
25 mpg seems quite unreachable, and it's not that I race it.
But never did a long trip.

My Tuscan was more economical....(petrolwise...)

Interesting guys..... Am I getting a vibes from this thread that the 500 is more economical than the 400?? I put it to you.......

This is gonna open up a whole can of worms!!
