My side light switch has died (no longer latching) so bought a replacement and pulled out the dash then noticed that the (rusty) steel panel it is attached it glued as well as bolted to the dash. Anyone know what sort of glue is best to use when replacing it? and any other tips when doing this.

Pete - You got yours at home? Would love a look when I finally get round to seeing you again!

For now willing to put in the new switch to get the car back on the road but longer term that new dash looks much better than the stock one, which is pretty shocking quality. My gauges could also do with a re-fresh if I were doing that so a bit of planning needed I'd think.

Well I've just taken another look at the job, having bought some araldite, and spotted that I also have 3 broken gauges (housing fractured and about to fall out) so the job just got a whole lot bigger. If I'm going to do a bigger job then the only way to do it is properly so can you put me on a short list for the next batch please?

Ta

Rob

P.S. Anyone know the best place to get the gauges re-furbed? They work fine but the housings are broken.

The limited amount of time I get to work on the car it will easily be well into next year before I get all this sorted out. The car is still outside as the builders are on a go slow with the garage build, which doesn't help. I have to keep the car drivable so I can put it back in so no stripping it down, which is a shame I'm in the mood for it at the moment.

Basically no rush at the moment, if the second batch schedule turns out to be rather longer than I'm thinking then maybe I'll take you up on the very kind offer smile
