tyre choice is free so you can run A or B list.

I run B list R888's to get enough grip in a straight line in low gears. You are right about the cold tyre bit - that is a major challenge when sprinting.

Perhaps a bigger problem though is on longer really fast circuits like Goodwood because we have to push so hard we often overheat the B list tyres in 2 laps and they suddenly lose all their grip which is a bit of a nightmare. How do you race guys avoid overheating B list tyres?
