Hi all,

Went to start the Griff today as the weather seemed nice, I hadn't taken it out for a bit, battery was all fully charged,

Placed the immobiliser key as normal, feel pump primed as usual, tried the ignition key, nothing happens at all, not even a click. I did have a read on here that it could be the alarm, and banged the dashboard to see if it would work, but still nothing,

It worked last time I drove it as well! the electric seem to have a mind of their own..

What els do people think this could be?

I've swapped the two silver relays round to see if it makes a difference, and purchased some new ones just incase its those.

Its also just had a new starter motor.

James.

Should do hopefully, it had a very similar problem when at the Le Mans classic, bump starting worked fine there .

Be interesting to see if this goes anywhere James as occasionally I get exactly the same issue with my Chim. May be wrong but I wouldn't imagine it's starter connections as the dash lights don't even dim upon turning the key, I can't hear the solenoid click either. It seems different to the 'hot start' issue so commonly spoken about in TVR circles
Will do smile That sounds very similar this problem, as I turn the key theres no dash light dimming either.

Just trued to call the local garage, and they recommended calling an auto electrician.

Could well be... Does seem to be displaying the exact same problem that it did when it broke down abroad, and resulted in a new motor.
That seemed to happen at the most inappropriate times, and work when I didn't need it..

Just borrowed someone to do a push start, immobiliser in, ignition on, started first time with a push start, let it warm up, turned to off, tried it with the key, Started first time!!

Very odd!

Hi all,

Just an update, Just to see what would happen, Ive replaced the two silver relays in the footwell with new ones,

Strangely it seems completely fine now... Seems to start every time, I even risked taking it to Blackpool and back to see the illuminations, and behaved brilliantly there too smile

May well fail again, but would be great if it was just the relays

James.
