I know this topic has been dealt with many times, but now I'm facing it myself, I would appreciate some specific advise.

I have a 500 with ACT's twin plenum and I'm looking for more stopping power. I've seen what others have done, but I'm doubting whether to go for the 283mm front upgrade with original callipers (Tower View) or a 300mm upgrade.

I don't want to throw away money so what's the best solution you think?

nice job, David! Looking good.

I have 16" wheels on the front and 17" on the rear.
Indeed, apart from the performance, I'm a bit worried that 283mm will still look small. Ideally, I would like to have 300mm with standard callipers. Is that possible?

What is a good dealer/shop in de London area (apart from Tower View, I already spoke to them) ?

Where did you do yours David?

I'm probably going for Hispec 300mm 4 pot for the front with braided hoses and Mintex 1144.

in that case, do I need to change the rear? If so, what do you recommend?

Peninsula is too far out for me. Castle Sport can't help me on Wednesday (the day I'll be in the UK) and Tower View only have 283mm at this moment.

Had a nice chat with someone at Hispec. They will probably have time to help me.

Any other alternatives in the London area?

just to let you know, picked up my new brake set at Hispec yesterday: 310mm with 4 pot front, 300mm with original callipers at the rear, braided hoses, Ferodo 2500 pads. Nice people, but also very unorganised, must be something like Blackpool!

will report when they are fitted

have the new Hispec brakes for a week now, I must say they are excellent. Especially the feel is much better and it gives you much more confidence overall. Haven't tried full braking power yet as they are new, but even now the stopping power is hugh!

will post some picies soon
