Was talking to the service manager of a certain SE based main dealer a couple of weeks back about the spiders/brakes upgrade that TVR are offering. I said that it'd look much better with 18" spiders instead of the 16" ones, his response was that there was no way to put 18" spiders on due to tyre/bodywork & tyre/hub clearnce issues.
Now I know that several PH'ers have Griffs with aftermarket 18" rear wheels fitted - did you have to mess around with spacers & different offsets to get them to fit (or go to a smaller width rim)?
Anyone managed to put 18"ers on the front yet?

Hi Gerjo, must say that your wheels look the dogs danglies! The only aftermarket set yet that would make me think of changing. I know you've given details of them before, but would you mind repeating?
Already done the suspension/brake upgrade thingy btw.

what brakes did you go for? like 'm?

I've got 4 pot HiSpec billet calipers with 283(or 285 - can't remember)mm drilled/grooved discs on the front & standard sized drilled/grooved discs on the back, EBC green pads all round. Yes I'm happy with them, although I'd fit bigger front discs if I was to go up in wheel diameter.

Problem with the 18" spiders is the narrowest width they do is 8.5J

Ah, didn't know they were 8.5" wide. I can see why that'd cause probs.

LF,

How near is the Griffith to being ready then ?

Just to jump a thread .... what would be the biggest disc I could fit into a 16' wheel. Would it be 300 mm ??

At the beginning of last week I was told 2 weeks time, so fingers crossed it'll be pretty soon - you'll know I've got it back when the weather turns!
