I guess its turned up its toes.
I've opened the boot a couple of times today and I have the Modwise boot release so I know its not a stuck switch.

Has it just breathed its last or do they work again when they cool down?

I've found a reference to a maplin part YD79 but the maplin website has 2 of them - YD79L (2Watt) and YD79K (5watt) - does anyone know which one I need ?

I need to get my hands on one damned quick because we're on the ferry to France on Thursday eek

Bearing in mind we're going to Le Mans Classic then on through France and Spain down to our place near Granada on Thursday I think I had a lucky escape that the solenoid went tonight.

When I took it out I also found this...

I found the chrome rod hedgehopper but wouldn't using the cause you a problem if the servo failed in the open position (ie. boot lid closed and locked) like mine just did?

I used a wire because of this thought but I'd be happy to change this if its not likely to fix one problem and create another.
