I saw a 1996- P reg mini traveller

Anyone seen this around?
Its a silver traveller with wood frame, the odd thing is its on a P reg plate, P as in 1996 not 1975.
The newest mini estate should be a 1982 on an X or Y (we had one of the last of them back in 1987 in a fetching metallic blue with black velour seats).

So how does one get a mini estate registered on a 1996 plate?

Yes it had the wheels and arches and looked very nice, so it could be by them, it was parked in front of a multi million pound house so it could well be an expensive car.
