Finally - my new Defender arrived today. The spec and colour rather divides people, but I'm still not convinced metallic paint and alloys belong on a Defender!

Anyway, it's glorious, and will keep a series 11a and a 300tdi company.

One small thing that I forgot to ask the dealer - presumably running in is a thing of the past?

Many thanks everyone for nice comments - yes, Wolf rims were dealer option - spec is as:

Base spec, wind up windows and no aircon
Body Coloured Roof and Arches
Rubber Mats
Cloth Heated Seats
Heated windscreen
Under body protection bar
Side Steps
Bluetooth Radio
Towing Pack
Wolf Wheels with Michelin Wrangler MT/R

Had it all wax injected today. Feels too good to use now! A few more pics...

Simply beautiful. I'm thinking of the same colour and wolf wheels on a 90 and while I'd likely go for the same spec as yours, I wondered why you didn't choose air con.
Many thanks - I love it! I have other normal cars which I've hardly used the zircon, if ever - and also as I've aways been happy with the other Landrovers I have - inc a 300tdi hardtop and have never needed aircon in that, I just didn't see the point, and liked the purity of wind up windows, flat paint, rubber mats and no zircon!

Each to their own tho, and no probs with others speccing aircon!

It's now been meticulously waxoyled everywhere, and I've fitted the in-arch outrigger and bulkhead protectors too. Planning to keep this one for ever... I'm in a v rural area, on clay, and lanes always muddy so am taking every precaution I can. Feel a little crazy as my other land rovers have always been worked hard, but I'm nervous about this one deteriorating!

Like it - classic and understated. Definitely in the original spirit of the Defender.

I have a 110 UW on order as well but you could describe my car as "same same but different" (a bit more 'bling' I'm afraid)
Many thanks - but I like ALL Utility Wagons, whatever the spec! They look great with metallic paint and all the extras too
